Installing the EcoTec Hydroponics Reflective Insulation Kit takes only a few steps. Simply attach the Multifoil Insulation directly to the walls using the Thermaseal Double-Sided Tape included in your kit.
For best results, create a 25mm air gap between the insulation and the wall using 25mm battens. This setup enhances reflectivity and helps eliminate cold bridging. When boarding internally, consider adding a second 25mm air gap for even greater efficiency. Alternatively, you can leave the insulation exposed — a common choice for hydroponic setups.

What would you recommend using the EcoTec Insulation Kit for?
If you’re simply using the space as hydroponic rooms, grow tents, and indoor gardening setups we’d recommend using the EcoTec Hydropinics Reflective insulation kit as you don’t need the insulation to keep the space warm at all times it’ll help protect the contents from the elements.
Do I need to tape and seal the insulation?
Yes, we recommend taping and sealing over all joints and overlaps on the roof and walls. This will help the products to act as a high-performing vapor control layer. However, if you’re insulating the floor, you still need to tape and seal the perimeter but leave the overlaps un-taped, this will ensure any moisture will escape below.
Why do I need to overlap the insulation?
The insulation should be overlapped by 50mm because this will stop draughts from entering the space and warm air from escaping.
Do I need to leave an air gap?
This is not essential for this application - however, we do recommend that you have a minimum air gap of 25mm on either side of the insulation however if a larger air gap is present this will only benefit the insulation. The air gap will help reflect any heat inside and any cool air outside.
