Insulate your cold and draughty cellar
EcoPro Cellar Insulation Kit is the ideal solution for insulating cold and draughty cellars and crawl spaces. Can be used on both the walls as well as the ceiling for cellar conversions or just on the ceiling to prevent cold draughts from below.
The insulation used in this kit is a 2-in-1 reflective foil insulation and vapour control barrier. Equivalent to around 100mm of Rockwool or 50mm of rigidboard. It’s designed to reflect the heat into your home rather than escape through the cellar. It’ll also prevent cold draughts from below. It’ll create a vapour control layer once fully taped and sealed with the Thermaseal foil joining tape which is included in the kit.
Cellars are notorious for containing moisture and dampness and this can lead to issues with mould and dampness. This insulation kit will protect your home from any issues as well as retaining heat within your home.
The insulation compresses down to only 6mm and is also just 15mm thick in its open state. If you’re insulating quite a small crawl space or your head height is restricted this will be the best solution for you.

Can I board over this insulation?
Yes, you can board over this insulation by adding wooden battens over the top of the insulation and attaching what you’d like to board over with to the wooden battens.
Will the foil insulation cause any problems with damp?
No, actually this will help prevent damp and mould and it’ll help reduce the risk of condensation.
Can I double up on the insulation?
Yes, you can do two layers of the EcoQuilt Expert Insulation. We recommend using a 25mm wooden batten over the first layer of insulation and attaching the second layer to the wooden battens. Or if the floor joists above are long enough you can recess the first layer of insulation into the joists and then the second layer can sit across the joists.
