Underlay for SPC-Lux Flooring
QuietWalk is a fully certified underlayment designed for use alongside SPC-Lux Flooring. It’s also compatible with multiple types of flooring including Laminate, Rigid Core Vinyl (5mm or Thicker), LVT (5mm or Thicker), and Floating Engineered Wood. QuietWalk is supplied in rolls that are 0.929 x 10m, it’s also only 3.175mm thick.
It’s approved for use with underfloor heating systems and allows heat to permeate evenly while protecting the SPC-Lux flooring from thermal shock. QuietWalk is made up of recycled filaments that are specifically designed to cushion the floor, absorb sound, and reduce unwanted noise. It can be used above both concrete and wooden subfloors.
QuietWalk Vapour Barrier
QuietWalk acts as a vapour barrier by attacking subfloor moisture and protecting your SPC-Lux Flooring. It disperses moisture throughout the pad to draw it up and away. This process uses DriWick Technology which promotes moisture dissipation and allows it to evaporate.
QuietWalk Recycled Filament Fibers
QuietWalk is firm but it’s also flexible enough to form around any subfloor imperfections. The recycled filament fibers help support the SPC-Lux UNILINC click mechanism and will withstand continuous heavy footfall.
QuietWalk Sound
The construction of its fibers allows QuietWalk to absorb sound. This helps to reduce unwanted transmitted noise.
What is the difference between QuietWalk and EcoTec Floor-Foam Insulation?
QuietWalk has been specifically designed for anyone looking to install underfloor heating systems alongside SPC-Lux Flooring. Quietwalk allows the heat to permeate through the flooring into the room above. It also protects SPC-Lux flooring from thermal shock – this is why it’s fully approved for this application.
EcoTec Floor-Foam is an amazing option for anyone that’s not installing an underfloor heating system. EcoTec Floor-Foam prevents cold bridging from below into the room above, it ats as a barrier from exterior temperatures. It improves energy retention and can even help you save on your energy bills.

Which Underlayment Should You Choose?

How to Install?
Roll out the underlayment, vapour barrier side up. Butt the seams together and leave a gap of 1/2” to 3/4” from the wall. Seal the quietwalk up with the foil joining tape provided and follow with the SPC-Lux Flooring.
